Group of children jumping into lake at sleepaway camp

Bogglefox Sleepaway Camp

Where kids can be kids.

At Bogglefox, campers ages 10-13 are invited to step into a world built for their imaginations to thrive. We partner with campers to create an environment filled with endless exploration and epic play, with unconventional activities like graffiti and woodworking, as well as classic camp games like gaga and tag. We invite campers to bring their passions, ideas, and curiosities with them so we can work together to bring them to life! Campers are empowered to choose the activities that will light them up and bring them joy in a trusting, well-structured, and safe environment.

Sleepaway Camp Details

We believe in the power of imagination and empower campers to choose their own adventures with the support of a dynamic team who are all about mixing wonder and surprise into camp. No two days at sleepaway camp are alike, as campers have the opportunity to tailor their experience to their unique needs and interests. We support campers in driving their experience through our Camper Empowerment Plan, designed to provide individualized support to each camper before, during, and after camp in order to help them thrive. With 40 campers and 15 staff, Bogglefox is perfect for first-time campers and experienced campers alike.

Activities

At the beginning of each session, campers will have the opportunity to participate in an optional community project where they can help create an experience for the entire community to engage in! A camper-created fort for all to camp in, a camp dance, or even a renaissance fair are examples of possibilities that can come to life with camper support. And, of course, campers are welcome to bring their imagination and tell us what they’d like to create; we’d love to make it happen! A few of the many activities campers will be able to choose from include:

• Creative Art
• Outdoor Music
Sports & Camp Games
Obstacle Course

Ultimate Tag
Dodgeball
Swimming
Paddleboarding

• Kayaking
• Woodworking
Outdoor Education

Sessions

We are excited to offer two sleepaway camp sessions this summer for our pilot program! We ask that campers be dropped off between 2:00-6:00pm on arrival days and be picked up between 2:00-6:00pm on departure days. We are happy to make flexible accommodations to these times as needed!

• Session One: July 1 – 9, 2023
• Session Two: July 15 – 23, 2023

What Camp is Like

Throughout the day your explorations, activities, and experiences will have opportunities for your voice to influence your experience. Our program is designed to allow flexibility from a traditional schedule based on blocks of time. The best comparison is a fairground-with areas to explore throughout the day with options mixed in for special events, programs, and surprise activities. We intentionally build flexibility for activities to last longer or transition earlier.

Morning
Special Wake Up

We get campers up and energized for each day in creative ways that introduce elements of wonder, surprise, and connection into their mornings.

Wake Up Meal

The dining hall is more than just a place to eat. It is created to inspire exploration, energize, and build relationships in a setting that invites conversation with meals provided by our professional food services team.

Free Choice

Campers choose two specialized activities the prior evening. We are continually partnering with campers to offer the most exciting options based on their interests. Featured areas to host creative activities include our ultimate tag arena, ninja warrior course, clubhouse, and studios.

Cabin Activity

Campers connect with their cabin group and guide to do an activity that they came up with as a group. Campers are given the prompt, ‘what if we_____’ and adventure abounds from there.

Afternoon
Lunch, Rest, & Challenge

Time to recharge with food and rest in the camp village. We use this time intentionally for care check ins, celebration, and to set up the next phase of the day. Following the period of rest is a quick theme based daily challenge option introduced through skit that provokes optional project bsaed activities to take place during fox den time.

Central Park

A mix of tree house and outdoors hubs built for play. Materials and activities within these zones are created in partnership with campers in the weeks ahead of camp to promote what they are interested in exploring more. A wide array of possibilities can exist in the dens which feature spaces for art, construction, for exploratory play.

Snack

A time for campers to eat a healthy snack, hangout if so inclined, and charge up for the evening.

Waterfront Open

A glacial lake offers the ability to explore in pristine views through swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing on the back of our Jet ski, and paddle boarding. Nearby is our half court basketball court, gaga pit, nine square, and more for those looking for additional options.

Studio Time

Project based activities are offered during this time for campers to learn and practice a new skill throughout the week. Optional projects connect to the culminating event of the week.

Evening
Dinner & Chill Time

Dinner time aims to elevate the culture and story of the main dishes served through story telling.

Evening Choice Activities

A mix of familiar activities like basketball and soccer mixed with imaginative activities like Quest for the Lorax.

Evening Program

Our evening programs are striking events that occur in a smaller amount of time and promote community lifelong memory.

Evening Cabin Time & Reflection

Cabins enjoy one more counselor-arranged activity followed by time to wrap up the day. Teeth brushing, showers and chill time follow with a group reflection taking place to end the day. Counselors plan special reflections that may consist of a camp fire discussion, quiet activity, or story.

Cabin Plus!

Cabins may decide to deviate from the flow of the day to spend a long afternoon hiking or on an overnight backpacking trip, or whatever else they can dream up!

Camper Plus!

Campers may decide to opt out of studio, waterfront, and other activities when our central park is open.

Uplifting youth choice,
endless
exploration, and epic play.

More about Camp Reimagined

Young people have traditionally had their voices silenced in inequitable ways in the design process of spaces aimed at serving them. We believe that youth have the right to be active participants in their life narrative and that, through play in safe and just spaces, they can learn more about who they are. We believe that some populations of youth are subject to voices and barriers in society working to limit their imaginations and ability to explore living to their fullest potential. We are passionate about removing barriers created by these ideas. Instead, we  seek to instill courage & resiliency within campers in regards to awareness of their identity and ability to effectively pursue their own role in the world. We hope that you’ll take a look around, get to know us better, and connect with us soon!

Cabin Village

Our cabins are brand-new units with air conditioning, indoor washrooms, and an open floor plan that allows for indoor community space. Cabins have electricity for bunk lighting, private changing areas, community patios, and outdoor space for cabins to enjoy. Campers work with their counselors at the beginning of each session to customize their cabin layout with additional furnishing, decorations, and lighting to provide even more of a customized homey feel. Our cabins house 2 staff and 10 campers.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall lives up to its name in so many ways.  Our vast multipurpose hall set at the end of our glacial lake hosts indoor/outdoor dining experiences, our snack cafe, indoor high and low energy programs (obstacle course, NERF tag games), GAMP Labs (Games, Arts, Music, Play), and indoor events (might look like a dance, medieval dinner & tournament, or trivia night).

Central Park

At the center of camp lies our central park area which remains open for campers to enjoy for most of the day as an alternative to choice activities. Features tree house style cabins, outdoor patios, and high-energy game areas inspired by a blend of makers spaces and Montessori setups to allow for self-directed exploration.
